Pallet loading metre (LDM) calculator for road freight

Calculate loading metres (LDM) and floor positions for Euro, industrial and US pallets on trailers and trucks.

Methodology & Quick Reference

Multiply pallet length by width, multiply by the number of floor positions needed, then divide by 2.4 metres of standard trailer width. One Euro pallet (1.2 × 0.8 m) takes 0.4 LDM; one industrial pallet (1.2 × 1.0 m) takes 0.5 LDM. Double-stacking halves the floor positions required.
